| Cruelty to Animals |
| The sight of big red barns and open fields full of happy cows is inexistent to this day and now farms are animals that are being crammed by hundreds into filthy sheds,wired cages,gestation crates, and other confinement systems. The only time that these animals will see light will be they day they are sent off for slaughter in trucks that have no protection to the climate and they are given no food on the trip there. The animals on these farms have no protection by the law unlike dogs or cats. Even though these animals on farms are almost equally as intelligent as either a cat or a dog they are still no protected by the law to be treated fairly. In the U.S. chickens that are bred for their flesh are usually drugged to grow so quickly that the hearts,lungs and limbs cannot keep up. Hens that are raised for eggs are thrown in with six to seven other chickens in a pen that is the size of a file drawer which are stacked on top of eachother in filthy dark warehouses. Cattle is castrated, their horns ripped out of their heads, and branded all without any pain relief. Cows used for milk are drugged to produfe unnatural amounts of milk. Mother pigs on farms are put stuffed in cages that stop them from turning around or lying down. Fish in aquafarms spend all of their life crammed in filthy water and many have parasitic infections and diseases. Turkeys' beaks and toes are burned off with a hot blade and many suffer heart failure or debiliating leg pain. |
